Hynek Alt is a visual artist living and working in Prague. In his practice he has long examined the transformations of the image in the digital age, from analogue photography through CGI and 3D rendering to spatial installation. His projects are realised as installations in which the mode of presentation and the work with space form a key part of the final piece. He has exhibited at the National Gallery Prague, Galerie Rudolfinum, PLATO Ostrava, Kunsthalle Bratislava, the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana, and other institutions. He was a finalist for the Henkel Art Award (MUMOK Vienna, 2009) and nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize (2010). He is a recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship and a creative fellowship from the Czech Ministry of Culture. Since 2016 he has headed the Studio of New Aesthetics at the Department of Photography, FAMU, Prague
