Rekonstrukce I: Sbírka Jana Svobody
27. 11. — 11. 12. 2015

An attempt to reconstruct, at least in part, this mental framework by means of artefacts once belonging to him is, paradoxically, now taking place in the studio of Josef Sudek, the photographer Svoboda most sought to emulate.
A proper understanding of the complicated works of an artist, from whose era, moreover, we are increasingly separated by time, cannot be achieved through his or her works alone. One also needs to know the influences and impetuses that formed the artist. Svoboda’s flat, where he made most of his best works, was a microcosm of minimalist aesthetic relationships based on a few carefully chosen objects and works of art by friends and idols. An attempt to reconstruct, at least in part, this mental framework by means of artefacts once belonging to him is, paradoxically, now taking place in the studio of Josef Sudek, the photographer Svoboda most sought to emulate.
